มาพักหลังๆ นี่ดาราในวงการพัฒนา Web application ต่างก็ออกมาเฉิดฉายระยิบระยับให้พวกเราตาลายเล่นๆ นะครับ โดยส่วนมากก็จะเป็นฝั่ง Client หรือที่พวกเราเรียกกันง่ายๆ ว่าฝั่ง Front-end อย่าง Silverlight ของ Microsoft, JavaFX ของ Sun และ Flex framework ของ Adobe
แต่จริงๆ แล้วมีอีกคนหนึ่ง ที่ถ้าเปรียบเทียบความใหญ่แล้ว เขาก็จะประมาณดาราฮอลลีวู้ดอย่าง จอร์น ทราโวต้า หรือ ทอม ครูส ที่ออกมาปรากฎตัวทีหนึ่งก็จะมาพร้อมกับความ “ใหญ่และหนัก” เสมอ นั่นก็คือคุณ Adobe Coldfusion นั่นเอง ซึ่งวันนี้เราเชิญเขามาสัมภาษณ์เกี่ยวกับเวอร์ชั่นใหม่ของเขา และจะได้เล่าถึงพื้นเพของเขากันด้วย More >
Stop your ColdFusion from start up in Mac OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

I have used Adobe ColdFusion 9 as a development platform in Microsoft Windows before. I just use Service management panel to set ColdFusion to avoid to start when Windows boot up. But now, with OSX snow leopard, I found I couldn’t find anything easy like that. So how can we prevent ColdFusion from starting up?
A data service provider?

Generally, I grow up with the social that told me, “If I have to do my own web-site I have to do my application server, database server, deployment, and maintenance with yourself”. Thank you for the hosting provider, they save a lot of time for us. Currently, it’s time for Cloud computing provider which is taking the development more easier. The developer can focus on their development instead of doing server environment with themselves.
But I have to think about this again. In the field of Adobe, they have many good products which available to combine into a good data service provider. This data service will act similar to Aptana cloud service provider which allows any developer to deploy the product by using their IDE. So this is about Flex, AIR, and Flash Platform. Just think about the client developer doesn’t need to take care too much on the back-end implementation. They just need to release their creativity to the work and the data will be take care by the professional.
Just my idea. I know you or someone around you have the power to do this.

แม้จะนานไปหน่อย แต่ในที่สุดก็พบ Mr.David ได้ออกมารายงานว่า มีการเคลื่อนไหวใน Adobe Lab เกี่ยวกับข้อมูลล่าสุดของ Adobe ColdFusion 9 (รหัส Centaur) และ ColdFusion IDE (รหัส Bolt) แล้ว โดย feature สำคัญๆ มีดังนี้ครับ
Adobe ColdFusion 9 (Centaur)
- มี ORM (Object Relational Mapping) ฝังมาให้ในตัว
- ตัว Service ของ ColdFusion สามารถทำงานกับ Flex และ AIR ได้ง่ายขึ้นผ่าน Actionscript Library
- มีการปรับปรุงในส่วนของ
- CFC Enhancement
- Implicit Getter and Setters
- Explicit Local scope
- CFSCRIPT Enhancements
- Full definition of component via script
- CFML และ CFSCRIPT เข้าใจกันได้มากขึ้น
- Language Enhancements
- มี New และ Import มาให้ใช้แล้ว (เริ่มเป็นภาษาโปรแกรมมิ่งมากขึ้น)
- CFFINALLY และ CFCONTINUE
ColdFusion IDE (Bolt)
- ระบบจัดการ Object Relational Mapping แบบปรับแต่งอัตโนมัติ
- ตัว Generate Application Code
- ส่วนการจัดการ server
- พัฒนาต่อได้ง่ายเพราะเป็น Eclipse Framework
- มี syntax highlighting สำหรับ CFML, HTML, Javascript, และ CSS
- มี Code assist สำหรับ tags, functions, variables, และ component ต่างๆ
- มี Code folding
- ตัวช่วยสร้างและจัดการ Code Snippet
- มี Outline View ช่วยในการ maintain และแก้ไข code
- RDS Explorer ช่วยในการจัดการ file และ database
- Debugging
โดยความเห็นส่วนตัว ผมคิดว่า Adobe จะ release Centaur กับ Bolt มาพร้อมๆ กับ Flex 4 ในปีกหน้านี้ อย่างไม่ต้องสงสัย
